Family-owned and operated bookshop Dymocks Camberwell has reopened at a new location in the Camberwell Junction precinct.
The much-loved bookshop has reopened at 208 – 210 Camberwell Rd, just a few doors down from the iconic Rivoli Cinemas.
Owner Henk Kelly-Kobes said the Dymocks Camberwell team were excited to return to the precinct.
“Dymocks Camberwell has been part of the Camberwell Junction precinct for more than 21 years. It’s our home, and we are very glad to be back,” he said.
“We can’t wait to reconnect with our loyal customers and welcome new locals to our store. We’re very proud to be in Camberwell.”
Dymocks Camberwell began trading in Burke Rd before moving to Camberwell Place shopping centre. Their new store, now located in the heart of the Camberwell Junction precinct, welcomes back the same Dymocks team that customers have grown to know and love over the years.
The new store is light and spacious and housed a large range of books, including bestsellers, new release fiction, biographies and memoirs, cookbooks, children’s titles and more.
“We also have an assortment of gifts, stationery, games and puzzles – the perfect accompaniment to a good read,” Mr Kelly-Kobes said.
The Dymocks Camberwell team is renowned for their passionate and friendly service, and their ability to help customers source those hard-to-find books.
The store also caters to call-and-collect orders and offers a fast local delivery service for those who want to receive books straight to their homes.
A rich history in the Camberwell community
The Kelly-Kobes family has owned and operated Dymocks Camberwell since 2000 and have been active members of their local community.
The store has run regular ‘Meet the Author’ events in Camberwell Junction, which have featured local and international authors, celebrities, sports stars, and politicians.
Dymocks Camberwell also hosts the First Tuesday Book Club, a public event held each month that features a line-up of local guest authors who speak about their writing journey.
Book club attendees are not expected to all read the same book before the event, but rather come together to meet and discuss their favourite books and authors.
The store has been a long-time supporter of children’s literacy and regularly donates to Dymocks Children’s Charities which supports children who have little or no access to good books.
Over the years, Dymocks Camberwell has also supported many charities within Boroondara as a way to give back to their local community.
