Introducing Mongkok Tea House

There’s something special about a restaurant that can take you from dinner to drinks without needing to leave your table. That’s the experience you’ll have at Mongkok Tea House, a modern Asian fusion restaurant and cocktail bar bringing bold flavours, creative drinks and a lively atmosphere to Camberwell Junction.

Located on Burke Road, Mongkok Tea House draws inspiration from across Asia, combining contemporary cooking techniques with a strong focus on cocktails. The menu is designed for sharing, bringing together familiar Asian flavours with unexpected combinations and creative ideas. Mongkok Tea House opened in Camberwell in 2021, inspired by a love of Asian food, cocktail culture and hospitality. Since then, the team has continued to develop its food and cocktail programs through seasonal menus, special events, collaborations and new dining experiences.

The restaurant has been warmly embraced by locals, including being voted Best Fine Dining Restaurant in Camberwell in 2025. The team’s cocktail expertise has also earned recognition in competitions including Hennessy MyWay, Cointreau Margarita Challenge, Jameson, Código Victoria and Nikka. But some of the most meaningful moments actually happen in the everyday interactions with locals who drop in for a glass of wine or cocktails, settle in at the bar and have a chat with the team.

“The awards are great, but for us the best part is still bringing all that experience back to this little restaurant in Camberwell: cooking good food, making great drinks, pouring a glass of wine and having a chat with our customers. That’s really what Mongkok is about.”

That local connection is part of why Camberwell Junction felt like the right home for Mongkok. The team saw an opportunity to bring the kind of modern dining and cocktail experience people might usually travel into the city for, right here in Camberwell Junction.

Two of Mongkok’s most popular dishes are the Kingfish Crudo and Aged Duck, long-standing favourites that showcase the restaurant’s distinctive approach to Asian fusion. For drinks, the team recommends ‘West on Bourke Rd’, one of Mongkok’s signatures. It’s refreshing and a great introduction to the style of cocktails created at Mongkok.

Another reason to stay a little longer is the Mongkok Supper Club. Running every Friday and Saturday from 9:30pm, this fun late-night offering brings together supper dishes and classic cocktails, and allows guests to learn a little about the stories behind them. And there’s plenty more on the way. Mongkok Tea House is currently working on its new spring and summer menu, with fresh seasonal dishes and new drinks to join the menu soon.

The team’s goal for the future is simple: to keep getting better while creating a venue that both its team and the Camberwell community can be proud of.
