Meet Calia Caiazzo of Brava Lingerie in Camberwell

Brava Lingerie in Camberwell opened its doors in November 2018 and a new way of shopping for lingerie for the bigger-busted woman had arrived.
Store Manager Calia Caiazzo said the shop has been enjoying the great exposure the buzzing shopping precinct provides.
“We are seeing many customers new to Brava with lots of walk-in and drive-by traffic,” Ms Caiazzo said.
“It has also been fantastic to introduce our Camberwell store to our many existing Brava customers who are local to the area.”
Brava provides what Ms Caiazzo describes as “a contemporary bra shopping experience”.
“D to K cup women feel inspired and empowered from the moment they step through our doors,” she said.
The staff are all trained bra fitters and receive three months’ training to skill up in “the Brava way”.
“At Brava we know that tape measures don’t work when it comes to D cup and up. We take a holistic approach to bra fitting which requires an empathetic approach with lots of listening, loads of product knowledge, a strong eye for detail and a genuine desire to help women,” Ms Caiazzo said.
“At the end of training and with experienced mentors, our fitters will be on their way to mastering the art of fitting by sight.”
Finding the right fit
The women who shop at the award-winning business (Brava recently won Best Customer Service Team and Online Customer Service Initiative of the Year at the 2019 Retailer Awards) are D-K cup women of all shapes, ages, professions and stages in life.
Ms Caiazzo said women want to feel supported, to be more comfortable and to feel great in what they are wearing.
“The right bra correctly fitted can change a woman’s life,” she said.
“The clothing styles she thought were not for her now become a possibility because her new shape and improved posture has resulted in a newfound confidence.”
Any woman who has shopped at Brava will know its trademark spacious yet private fitting rooms, with room for a pram and seating for a friend, mum or partner who has come with you.
“We will do everything we can for our customers to feel satisfied and leave with a smile on their face,” Ms Caiazzo said.
The most fundamental part of finding a good bra is to always get professionally fitted, Ms Caiazzo said.
“Every style and brand fits so differently and your size can fluctuate throughout your life,” she said.
“Getting fitted is the best way to ensure you always have the most comfortable and supportive fit. Be prepared to try on styles that are new to you – there are some fabulous ranges being designed that are gorgeous and beautifully made.”
The D cup and up specialists
Brava ranges start at D cup with back sizes starting at size 6, so smaller women who need bigger cups have options.
Ms Caiazzo said attitudes have changed in recent years, in terms of what lingerie larger-busted women can buy. She believes there is a growing awareness of getting fitted and also of body positivity.
“We are seeing more designers catering to the fuller busted women. It is so important to be able to offer beautiful, sexy options to women of all ages and sizes. This has to include sports bras because many women fear exercising until they discover the difference the right sports bra can make to help them reach their physical potential,” she said.
Brava also stocks supportive swimwear.
The most crucial element of the service at Brava is creating a positive experience that ensures women feel comfortable and welcome.
