Country Road opens new store in Camberwell Junction

Country Road has opened their new Camberwell Junction store in the heart of Burke Rd, a space that is targeting a 5 Star Green Star Interior Certification from the Green Building Council of Australia.

This internationally recognised rating indicates Australian Excellence in store design, and will become Country Road’s sixteenth store location to target the rating.

Throughout the design process, existing store elements were carefully repurposed to reduce waste, while a number of new fixtures incorporated recycled materials. Examples include using recycled yoghurt containers for fixtures, carpet crafted using recycled fishing nets, and parquetry flooring reclaimed from old buildings.

CEO of Green Building Council of Australia Davina Rooney congratulated Country Road for their ongoing commitment to sustainable stores, including the new Camberwell Junction store.

“We applaud this iconic Australian business for continuously pushing the boundaries of sustainable innovation and thank Country Road for showing industry what’s possible in a retail setting,” she said.

Covering 450m2 of retail space, the interior has evolved to feel like a large boutique with residential character. It’s filled with natural daylight, softly rendered walls and curtains to provide an experience of comfort, delight and heightened service.

Kerry Daly, manager of the Camberwell Traders’ Association, said it was exciting to see the new store open in Camberwell Junction.

“Not only is this new store a wonderful addition to Burke Rd, it’s great to see Country Road continue their presence in the precinct. The store has a rich history in Camberwell Junction and we hope it will be here long into the future,” she said.

“We also commend Country Road for their commitment to bringing their new store to Camberwell Junction as sustainably as possible.”

The new Camberwell Junction store stocks Country Road’s complete range across Woman, Man, Child and Home, and the collections feature organically grown fibres, recycled materials and Australian-made items.

Being the first Australian fashion retailer to partner with Oritain to scientifically verify fibre origin, Country Road proudly offers styles made from verified Australian Cotton and Verified Australian Merino that can be traced back to Australian Farms.

The Camberwell Junction store also features Country Road’s first dedicated gift wrap station to streamline the customer gifting experience. Gift boxes are complimentary for VIP Platinum members and available to purchase for all other customers.

The new store opening follows several recent milestones for Country Road. In October 2022, the brand launched Australia’s first fashion industry climate fund – a climate impact grants program aimed at accelerating and incubating positive climate projects.

The new store is located at 566 Burke Rd, Camberwell.
