Celebrate spring in Camberwell Junction

We made it. Melbourne winter is (mostly) behind us.

The days are getting longer, the sun is making increasingly confident appearances, and we can finally leave the house without dressing for several weather events at once.

Which means it’s time to come out of hibernation!

Spring has landed in Camberwell Junction with new flavours at new restaurants, new-season finds, colourful ways to brighten up your home and plenty of excuses to spend a little more time out and about.

So, where do we begin?

Bring a little spring home

Nothing says spring quite like bringing some colour and greenery back into your space.

Prefer someone else to do the cooking? Spring is also a very good excuse to venture back out for brunch, lunch or dinner. Grab something healthy and colourful from Fishbowl or Little Dragon in Camberwell Place, settle in for a coffee along Riversdale Road at newcomer Cafe de Gracie, or completely ignore our suggestion of eating lighter and indulge in decadent tarts or sweet treats at Laurent Patisserie or croissants stuffed with brownies from 10³ BakeHouse instead.

It’s called balance.

Take it outside

We’ve spent enough time indoors.

Longer days and warmer afternoons mean picnics, backyard catch-ups and outdoor entertaining are firmly back on the agenda.

Stock up on picnic gear, servingware and all the little extras at Stanley & Stone, Minimax and Kmart, then head to Nick & Sue’s Gourmet Deli, The Source Bulk Foods and Pasture+Vine for the important part: what you’re actually going to eat.

Or skip the prep altogether and make the most of Camberwell Junction’s cafés, restaurants and bars as outdoor tables start looking considerably more inviting again.

It’s finally time to give the heavy coats a rest.
