You may have lived in your slippers or UGG boots for most of last year, but now’s the time to release your feet and restyle them as you refresh your wardrobe for autumn/winter 2021.

The good news is the three top trends for 2021 leave you lots of wiggle room to make the trending styles work for you.

This season brings us edgy, chic comfort and classics with a glam twist. The all-age-groups loafer, strappy sandal and sneaker have been big at the international fashion shows and are in Camberwell stores now in all their iterations.

The lovely loafer

It’s true, the loafer returns again and again. And it’s on trend in 2021 because this timeless classic is comfortable footwear made fashionable.

This year the variety is broad and you can keep it simple – in soft, unstructured leather, hinting at those 2020 slippers you loved so much.

You can lift it up with a block heel, chunk it up with a wide tread, or bling it up with an added gold chain – spotted on many of the catwalks this year.

It’s a no-brainer to add this staple to your winter wardrobe as it is so easily paired with skirts, dresses and pants.

The strappy sandal

Autumn allows us to say goodbye to summer while still enjoying a few more days of warm, summerish weather. So, happily, the strappy sandal is a strong trend this year.

From the utilitarian and casual look that we can pull on with skirts, shorts and jeans, to the heeled, more elegant variety, the 2021 strappy sandal will also take us to the beach, boardroom and the bar.

They are hardly a new footwear trend, but the catwalks of New York and London have recently teased us with more playful and dressy designs including intricate strapping and longer, wrap-around straps.
