Traders to adopt Victorian Government QR code service
April 29, 2021
Starting Friday, April 30, it is mandatory for many businesses in Victoria to use the government’s QR code service to assist with contact tracing.
Spot checks will be carried out and fines will apply to businesses that do not comply.
Venues must also make reasonable efforts to support, provide or use alternative record keeping systems for people who do not have access to or cannot use a personal mobile phone or other device to check in. This could include having an available device for people to register their contact details with staff assistance, if needed.
Remember that it is mandatory for every Victorian business with on-site operations to have a COVIDSafe Plan. It is important that retailers are aware of and can demonstrate compliance with these requirements.
