Police are here to support retail staff

Annual Victoria Police Community Sentiment Survey - 2022

Retail workers across the wonderful City of Boroondara are working hard as we all descend upon the shops. Like all workplaces, they deserve to be safe and treated civilly.

Wearing a mask, scanning/signing in and showing proof of vaccination status is the new normal. It should not come as a shock if customers enter a shop and are asked to follow these requirements.

As part of Operation Watch, police will be patrolling and walking through shopping centres and retail areas, continuing to play a significant role in keeping the community safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.

If customers are not allowed entry due to their vaccination status, abuse, aggression and assaults towards retail staff is not the solution, and will not be tolerated.

If you’re a retail worker experiencing difficulties or require police assistance, please call Camberwell Police Station on (03) 9882 0688. If you require immediate police attendance call Triple Zero (000).
