‘Picnic at The Well’ with Masterchef Julie Goodwin

Australia’s first Masterchef is coming to Camberwell.

As part of her national book tour Julie Goodwin will join Dymocks Camberwell and guests for a picnic at Ebony Quill Café at The Well.

Food lovers and families are encouraged to attend the event where Julie will present her new cookbook Gather which includes a host of recipes designed for occasions when families and communities get together.

Julie said while the concept of the cookbook is based on social gatherings that revolve around food, the recipes are simple and focus on tasty homemade dishes.

“The book is designed to bring people together over a good meal,” said Julie.

“The recipes are simple and accessible. It’s really to say that life’s also about celebrating the little things.”

Julie’s first cookbook, Our Family Table, is one of the highest selling cookbooks in Australian history.

Julie said her past cookbooks have centred on food that has been passed down in her family.

Gather is a bit broader. It’s about the food I cook for my family and friends,” she said.

Gather can be used an excuse to get to know your neighbours better, to reconnect with old friends over a pot luck dinner, a way to help the community at the next cake stall, or a way to get the family together for a picnic over the weekend.

The ‘Picnic at The Well’ event gives you the chance to meet Julie in person, ask her questions and, most importantly, experience the ritual of gathering and enjoying good food.

Guests will enjoy a main course, dessert and tea, coffee and drinks as part of their ticket purchase.

But be quick – bookings are required by May 4.
