Meet Crystal Dinh of Scalp Series in Camberwell Junction

A drive to take cosmetic care beyond a one-size-fits-all approach led Crystal Dinh to set up her own business, Scalp Series.

The Camberwell Junction business is a specialised hair restoration clinic with a focus on personalised, evidence-based treatments.

“Every treatment we offer has been carefully selected for its safety and effectiveness, ensuring that clients receive the highest standard of care,” Ms Dinh said.

“Unlike many clinics that include hair loss as a side treatment, Scalp Series is dedicated solely to hair restoration, with a holistic approach that’s tailored to each client’s individual needs and goals.”

Ensuring knowledge and safety

The individual approach is important to Ms Dinh and underpins the service offered at the clinic.

“My own experience with hair loss gave me insight into the emotional toll it takes, and I wanted to bring a more specialised, holistic approach to this field,” she said.

She felt many clinics treated hair loss as an afterthought and some lacked quality products and specialised knowledge.

“I started Scalp Series to fill those gaps and provide clients with a dedicated, thoughtful approach to hair restoration,” she said.

Ms Dinh has a health background with a Bachelor of Science, a Master of Nursing, a Graduate Diploma in Cosmetic Nursing and Injectables, and ongoing studies in trichology.

“I’ve worked in cosmetic clinics for several years,” she said.

“That’s where I noticed a lack of truly client-centred approaches.”

Hair help for all ages

Since 2021, Ms Dinh has specialised in hair loss and done thousands of treatments.

She was drawn to cosmetic nursing because she knew she wanted to make a meaningful impact on people’s confidence and wellbeing.

“Hair loss, in particular, is a highly personal issue that affects people deeply,” she said.

Running Scalp Series is a fulfilling job for Ms Dinh.

“The most rewarding part is seeing the transformation in my clients. Hair restoration treatments often take three to six months for visible results, so I get to watch my clients gradually regain their confidence,” she said.

Men and women, ranging from their 20s to 50s, seek help with their hair health at Scalp Series. They come with hair thinning issues, seeking post-hair transplant care, help with postpartum hair loss, or are looking for preventive treatments to combat genetic hair loss.
