Defy ageing skin with LED light therapy at Endota Spa in Camberwell

Endota Spa in Camberwell has introduced a new treatment to fight fine lines and wrinkles, and provide a defence to the skin ageing process.
The New Age™ light therapy facial involves a deep cleanse and exfoliation, a hydrating gel mask and the LED light mask, with a side of pampering.
The treatment begins with a skin consultation with an Endota Spa beauty therapist which will determine whether they need to treat dehydrated skin, oily skin or any other specific skin conditions, such as acne.
Beauty therapist Stephanie Psaila treated my skin. She began by cleansing my face and neck with a facial wash and then used the bt-micro® handheld device which creates an electric circuit to deeply cleanse the skin. The device achieves ultrasonic exfoliation by creating high speed oscillations, leaving the skin feeling smooth and fresh.
She then used an enzyme scrub to layer and leave on the skin to work its magic. The thick solution essentially acts as an exfoliant and eats away at dead skin cells which helps to promote new cell growth.
This cleansing and exfoliating routine prepares the skin to ensure it is in an ideal state to receive the LED treatment, Stephanie tells me.
LED, or light therapy, uses coloured wavelengths of light to penetrate the skin at varying depths. The treatment is non-invasive, pain free and helps to soothe and rejuvenate the skin.
A hydrating gel mask is then placed over my face – it is designed to hydrate the skin but it will also help to scatter the LED light so that it can hit more skin cells – and the LED mask sits on the face, over the hydrating mask, for about 10 minutes. It’s quiet and not at all imposing, making for a relaxing and calming experience.
Stephanie said the LED light treatment deeply hydrates and stimulates cell regeneration by boosting collagen and elastin production in the skin. It’s also beneficial for promoting hygiene of the skin because the LED has an antibacterial effect.
“For the anti-ageing LED treatment, the infra-red light works by penetrating deep into the dermis. It hits the cells and creates energy in the cells, prompting them to behave in the way they did when they were younger,” she said.
Once the LED mask is completed, Endota Spa’s NEW AGE™ 100% pure collagen sphere is applied to my skin to further plump and tone it. This helps with stimulating those anti-ageing results.
Post treatment, my skin was left feeling soft and plump and I noticed visible results as early as the following day. My skin appeared more vibrant, had healthy colour and felt well hydrated for the week after treatment. I was advised by Endota Spa to undergo their New Age™ light therapy facial regularly (once a fortnight or once a month) to maintain these results and improve the overall appearance of my skin.
By far, one of the best things about getting a skin treatment at Endota Spa is the tailored approach that beauty therapists give their clients. While you may be booked in for the LED light therapy facial, don’t expect a one-size-fits-all treatment. Your skin consultation before the treatment ensures the therapist can tailor the treatment to address your specific skin conditions. For instance, a hydration mask might be applied for those battling with dry, dehydrated skin while a different mask or solution will be used for those with oily skin or those looking to treat acne.
And it’s not just about the facial treatment. The session comes with some massage time, ensuring you leave feeling relaxed and pampered. Speak to your therapist about massage options but the scalp massage and foot massage come highly recommended.
