Dine In Dine Out food fiesta returns to Camberwell for sixth year
Article posted: July 10, 2018
Food lovers will be pleased to learn that Camberwell’s annual food and wine event Dine In Dine Out returns on Saturday, August 4.
Now in its sixth year, the gourmet day and night will offer laneway pop-up parks, live music, food and wine tastings, demonstrations, in-store promotions, roving entertainers and activities for the kids.
The Camberwell traders put on Dine In Dine Out to showcase the best in local cafes, restaurants, niche food stores and market produce.
Daytime activities will run from 10am – 3pm, while the evening festivities will take place from 6pm – 10pm.
Camberwell Centre Association manager Kerry Daly said the event has proven popular with both Camberwell locals and food-loving visitors in previous years.
“We have more than 140 food businesses across the Camberwell precinct. Dine In Dine Out gives us the chance to showcase the diverse food and dining options in the area,” she said.
“The event has grown each year, and this year visitors can look forward to a few new activities and attractions.
“It’s a great day out for the whole family, and the evening offers a bit of fun for those who want to stay out late and enjoy a live show.”
Below is a rundown of some of the food and festival offerings to check out at Dine In Dine Out:
Evans Place laneway
During the day, Evans Place laneway will offer visitors a fun pop-up park, where a selection of food vendors will sell meals and snacks, and offer tastings and demonstrations.
The area will also have music, games such as giant chess, roving entertainers and face painters.
Burke Avenue carpark
The Burke Avenue carpark, located just outside The Well shopping centre, will become a carnival-style pop-up park with rides, a petting zoo, community stalls and food trucks.
There will also be a choir, live music, dancing, giant checkers and mini golf.
Camberwell Fresh Food Market
To coincide with Dine In Dine Out, the Camberwell Fresh Food Market will host their Family Day on August 4.
There will be music, a radio broadcasting van, exclusive offers on food, and the chance to win prizes.
Be sure to visit the Camberwell Fresh Food Market website for further details.
Antique fire truck rides
Camberwell’s famous antique fire truck will return to give visitors the chance to ride around the precinct in style.
Departing from the Market Place carpark (near Nando’s Camberwell), rides will be free for visitors to enjoy.
After Dark Jazz Park
From 6pm – 10pm Evans Place laneway will transform into the After Dark Jazz Park, offering a magical night with plenty of energy.
Food and wine will be available to enjoy while jazz band Dr Jazz and The Gangsters Palace puts on a spectacular show of live music.
The evening will also include swing dancing and daring magic tricks.
